Asphalt Dreams
I feel alone as the red of a tail light catches me.
I swim into the black of a rain soaked street.
And I don't mind trying to look away.
I don't mind leaving my thoughts to find yours.
I turn my head and focus, let my mind follow the street.
What will be will be.
And those times I run for shelter are just asphalt dreams,
Lost in the gloomy lights of hidden sleep.
And I don't mind trying to look away.
I don't mind leaving my thoughts to find yours.
The overpass lights play with the side road decay
And I feel those dark waters sweep me away....
