Inspired by the book, "Kindred" by Octavia Butler.  The second I read the last word of this book, I picked up a pen and wrote "The Time Will Come."  It was truly an inspirational book an done that I will always remember, I recommend it to everyone. 

The Time Will Come

Take everything I've ever wanted and suppress it like an unwanted glove.
You look at me with ill contempt and I concede to your resentment.
But if hope is a fire...
Then the time will come.
I talk of of martyr and you marvel at my assumption,
But it's not so different - this vindication.
I walk through my life with an unwanted voice,
Squandered in corruption.
But the choices were made and I had no say.
But if hope is a fire...
